Eco Ez Cleanse™ - Why use Eco Ez Cleanse

Product Detail

The European Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (ESGE), and the World Gastroenterology Organisation (WGO) have both published that all scopes must be pre-cleaned with detergent. They state that decontamination should begin as soon as the endoscope has been removed from the patient. Before the endoscope is even detached from the light source or processor, preliminary cleaning routine should be undertaken.

The World Gastroenterology Organisation (WGO) in their “Endoscope disinfection a resource-sensitive Approach Feb 2011,” state that:

•Preliminary cleaning should be started before the endoscope is detached from the light source/video processor.

•Clear gross debris by sucking (250 mL/min) detergent through the working channeland wipe down the insertion shaft

In the UK, the BSG states:

“Decontamination should begin as soon as the endoscope has been removed from the patient. Before the endoscope is detached from the light source/videoprocessor apreliminary cleaning routine should be undertaken. Detergent should be sucked through the working channel in order to clear gross debris and ensure that the working channel is not blocked. The insertion shaft is wiped down externally and checked for any bite marks or other surface irregularities.”

In Europe the ESGE - ESGENA guideline: Cleaning and disinfection in gastrointestinal endoscopy state:

“As soon as the endoscope is withdrawn from the patient, pre−cleaning should begin. Before the endoscope is detached from the light source and video processor, detergent solution is sucked through the working channel and the air/water channel is flushed with water in order to remove debris and to check the correct functioning of the channel. The insertion tube is cleaned externally with a soft, disposable cloth/sponge and checked for any damages.”

“Suck detergent through the working channel (minimum 250ml).”

Olympus provides their own guidelines for processing their scopes and state:

“Aspirate detergent solution for 30 seconds”; which equates to about 500ml of detergent solution.

Eco EZ Cleanse™ is an eloquent single-use solution for the pre-cleaning of endoscopes, bringing together all the items required to undertake the process whilst ensuing the correct and amount and concentration of detergent are used. The unique two-tired design enables you to follow either the clinical or Olympus guidelines.
